Services and Fees
"How much?"
That's the bottom line for many couples. Trying to determine how much I charge for my services is always an issue. If I charge too much I don't get the opportunity to work with some amazing couples, but if I charge too little I can't cover my expenses and won't be able to continue serving all these amazing couples. It's a common problem and a tricky one.
So, I approach pricing by basing my fees on four basic criteria:
Ceremony type
Custom Ceremony - A unique ceremony designed by you and personalized from beginning to end. My favorite and most popular option as it is the most meaningful to you and generates the most enthusiasm from your guests.
Basic Ceremony - One of my three prewritten ceremonies, either Civil, Spiritual or Non-Denominational Christian. You are free to read your own vows to each other in place of the usual "I Do" vows, but otherwise it's not customized or personalized.
Enhanced Basic Ceremony - I can add simple modifications to the Basic ceremony, such as a Unity Candle lighting or Presentation of the Bride. It's still just a stock ceremony but it allows for just a little more "oomph".
Date
Weekend Ceremony - Friday, Saturday and Sundays are far more popular and are priced accordingly.
Weekday Ceremony - Monday - Thursday. If you are willing and able to schedule your ceremony during the week I can offer a discounted price.
Rehearsal Needs
Attend and Run your Rehearsal - I've run countless wedding rehearsals and I feel they are extremely valuable. Not only do they offer your wedding party a chance to socialize and get a feel for the ceremony space, they also address everyone's questions and opinions up front and keep them from coming up on the wedding day when they will only confuse and detract from your celebration. If you do not have a professional wedding coordinator to run your rehearsal, you can hire me to perform this important task for you.
Rehearsal Guide - If you have a limited budget and someone you trust to run your rehearsal for you, I can make my personal 8-page rehearsal guide available for many weddings.
No Rehearsal - Please feel free to rehearse without me, especially if you have an on-site coordinator or other experienced folks to help you out.
Location
I do charge for travel to cover my time and expenses. Travel fees are discounted for custom ceremonies.
As every couple's needs are different, it's difficult for me to quote any flat fees without knowing exactly what type of ceremony/rehearsal you're looking for and when and where your ceremony will be.
Generally speaking - a basic ceremony on a weekday in Lansing with no rehearsal will run about $150.00. A custom ceremony on a Saturday over 50 miles from Lansing, with my presence at the rehearsal on Friday night might be $900, depending on the exact location. Most of my weekend custom ceremonies run about $550.00, but like I say, every couple has different needs and all of my weddings are priced accordingly.
